A NEW GENTLE WAY OF HEALING FROM TRAUMA

& COPING WITH STRESS

DO YOU SUFFER FROM THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS?

  • Memory problems
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Poor judgement
  • Anxiety Racing / worrying thoughts
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Moody
  • Irritable
  • Depressed
  • Feeling of isolation
  • Anger outbursts
  • Inability to relax

Many of us live in constant stress, having to deal with all kinds of pressures, from financial stress, unemployment, illness, anger and frustration, not to mention the daily demands that are put on us. Added to this are past issues such as divorce, death of a loved one, violence and/or abuse, childhood traumas, all of which have a profound effect on our present living.

Stress and trauma is held as tension in our muscles and gut, sending messages to the brain that there is something to fear Stress has become a normal way of life for most of us, the effects of it creep up on us slowly, and before we are aware of it, our bodies are suffering from stress overload.
This keeps us either overwhelmed by bodily sensations (flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, racing heart) or shut down against them (dissociation, frequent spaciness, unreality, and various somatic and health complaints)

If you suffer from some of these symptoms, it could be that you are close to or even in stress overload, and perhaps it is time to take action before it gets worse. Some of these symptoms could be memory problems, difficulty concentrating, poor judgement, anxious, racing or worrying thoughts, emotional symptoms such as feelings of being overwhelmed, moodiness, irritability or anger outbursts, agitation and inability to relax, a sense of isolation and loneliness, as well as depression. There could also have been a change of eating patterns, sleep problems, procrastination or neglecting responsibilities, and using alcohol or drugs to relax. And of course the physical symptoms too, which could be all kinds of aches and pains, diarrhea or constipation, nausea or dizziness, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, loss of sex drive, frequent illnesses, and nervous habits.

WHAT IS TRE …

&  HOW DOES IT HELP REDUCE THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA & STRESS?

TRE was devised by Dr David Berceli and is a body-centred methodology of trauma recovery which can be used with individuals, or in large-scale populations. It is learned easily, immediately effective and selfempowering. TRE does not require talking about or recalling past events, and once it is learned, can be used at home without the assistance of a therapist, as ongoing support and also as an enhancement to other approaches. TRE is a revolutionary approach which activates the neuromuscular mechanism within our bodies to release deeply held chronic tension, stress, anxiety and unresolved trauma (including PTSD). This is done by six simple exercises suitable for almost anyone. The exercises help to activate our innate tremoring in a safe and controlled way, discharging and releasing chronic tension and bringing our nervous system back to a calm and relaxed homeostasis.
